Obituary

Brother Cedric Sanders, "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain."

Cedric was born January 15, 1953, in Newton, Alabama, to the late Charlie Alford and Bernice (Boyd) Sanders. This union was blessed with eleven children. Edith Jean Johnson, Ozark AL; Lecoula (Mayfield) Sanders, Hollis NY; Mildred Sanders (deceased); Mattie Lorene Sanders (deceased); Julia Mae Wolfork, Trussville AL; Alexander Sanders, Dothan AL; Lizzie Mae (David) Bell, San Antonio TX; Jerome Sanders, Ozark AL; Yvonne (Hildegarde) Sanders, Banks AL; Patricia Louise Sanders (deceased).

Cedric accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Mark AME Church in Newton. He later became a member at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Newton and Friendship Baptist Church in Enterprise. God blessed Cedric with the gift of playing multiple instruments. He continued to serve until his health declined.

He was educated in the Dale County school system, graduating from Mack M. Matthews. Cedric studied music at Troy State University, later enlisting in the United States Army. He was gifted to play multiple instruments, the organ and piano being his favorite.

Cedric entered eternal rest Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023, at Elba Nursing Home in Elba, AL.
