George William Byrd was born August 23 1946 in Dale County to the late Dan J Byrd and Gussie Byrd. He is the last of five brothers, Miller, Charlie Melvin and Johnny Byrd. He served 23 years in the United States Army, obtaining numerous achievements and medals, and retiring as Master Sergeant.

On November 22 2022 our Heavenly Father looked down on His son and called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son and daughter, Paul Newman (Kimberly) of Ozark, Alabama and Denita Roberts (Victor) of Enterprise, Alabama; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
