George Kenneth Taylor also known as "Sax Man" to family and friends departed this life on 12, September 2024 at Flower's Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. George was born on 7 September 1943 to the late James W. and Rhodie J. Taylor of Ozark, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his late wife Pauline L. Taylor.
George was employed with Bell Frame and Brake Services in Dothan, Alabama for over thirty-five years before retiring. He was a master of Euclid Lodge#68 in Ozark for several years. He
also was a loyal member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church since the age of ten. George returned to St. Paul A.M.E. after leaving New York City where he met his wife, Pauline. When he returned, he became a Deacon and Sunday School teacher sharing his biblical knowledge with many. George leaves behind his five children: Keith R. Taylor of Rochester, New York; Selena Maria Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; Elisa Taylor-Carthon (Edward) of San Antonio, Texas; Michelle Taylor- Lewis (Billy) of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Julius Michael Taylor of Portland, Maine. He also leaves behind four sisters: Betty L. Mathew, Janet M. Taylor, Carroll E. Baxter and Shirley T. Welch, all of Ozark, Alabama. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Keith Jr., Jarrod, Mariah and Shanique Taylor (Keith); Michael K. Williams and Edward C. Carthon (Elisa/Edward); Karaun, Kenzie, Kambri Lenore Taylor and Zihmer Brown (Michael) and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. George also leaves behind a nephew Mikki T. Welch with whom he shared a special relationship with.
