Lucy Marie Goodwin, known lovingly by many as LuLu, passed away on November 1, 2026, in Midland City, Alabama, at the age of 55.

Lucy was born on August 23, 1971, in Pennsylvania, and she carried the warmth, strength, and spirit of her roots with her throughout her life. She was the oldest of her siblings, a role she embraced with love, care, and a quiet sense of responsibility that remained with her always. Thirteen years ago, she made her home in the Wiregrass area, where she built a life surrounded by family, friendship, and the people who came to know and cherish her gentle presence.

Lucy was a loving and creative woman whose heart was especially drawn to the simple joys that brought beauty into everyday life. She loved dolphins and was often captivated by their grace and spirit. She also enjoyed doing Diamond Art, a hobby that reflected her patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Those who knew her best will remember her for the kindness she showed, the love she gave freely, and the thoughtful way she expressed herself through the things she enjoyed and the people she held dear.

She is survived by her significant other of 16 years, Will Caesar, who shared many cherished years by her side. She also leaves behind her children, Miranda Walters, Trent Walters, Bridgett Owen, and Harmony Owen, as well as her beloved grandchild, Romello Walters. Lucy is also survived by her siblings, Linda Gordon (Ronnie), Hazel Dunklebarger (Walter), Larry Butler (BJ), Robert Butler (Mary), Henry Butler, and Sandy Chamberlain Joe). She leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will carry forward memories of her love and presence in their lives. She is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Bonnie Lou Butler, whose place in her life remained important throughout the years.

Lucy is also remembered by her half siblings, John Long (Laura), Tammy Long, Ashley Butler (Pat), William Long, Derek Long, Eric Long, and John Henry Long (Chelsea). She was preceded in death by her father, John Long; her stepfather, Larry Butler; her grandmother, Hazel Martin; and her grandfather, Bob Martin and brother John Henry Long Jr.

The family and all who knew Lucy will remember her as a woman of love, creativity, and enduring devotion to those around her. Her life was marked by the bonds she formed, the family she treasured, and the quiet joys that gave her happiness. Though her passing leaves a deep sorrow in the hearts of many, her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the love she gave, and the lasting impression she made on those fortunate enough to know her. Lucy Marie Goodwin will be dearly missed and forever remembered with love by her family and all whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Lucy's life will be held at 2PM on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Doug McCormick. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
