Mary B Grant Bolden, affectionately known to many as "Suebay" was born on December 25, 1945, in Ozark, Alabama, Suebay departed from this life on June 11, 2026, peacefully at the Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Sue bay was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Charles Grant and Maggie Lou Mixon Grant. She was one of a large and loving family, predeceased by her son, Hernandez Bolden, and siblings: Dollie Mae Snow, Dorothy Mclin, Tutna Mixon, Walter Lee Mixon, Fannie Lee Lawson, Robert Lee Moore, James Grant, Merita Crittenden, QC Grant and James L Davis.
Suebay's life was a :estamentto dedication and service. She graduated from DA Smith High School and pursued further education in Mobile, Alabama. She began her career as a barber on the Old Block, before dedicating many years to Ma Bell telephone company and eventually retiring from Verizon. Her work ethic and commitment left an indelible mark on all w110 had the privilege of working alongside her. A woman of faith, Suebay confessed in Christ at a young age and was a dedicated member of the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. SC Jackson. Her commitment to her faith was evident as she taught Sunday school, nurturing the spiritual growth of many until her health would no longer allow. Her devotion to her community and church was unwavering and served as an inspiration to all.
Suebay was known for her passion for fishing, a pastime she enjoyed wherever time would allow. Her love for the simple joys in life, like casting a line and feeling the tug of a fish, brought her peace and happiness.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories, cherished by her dear sister Joann Dorsey {Charles); nieces: Carol Johnson, Theresa Hart, Andra Stokes, Cloris Grant, Landa Grant, Keondra Moore, Rochette Jones, Roxanne Hill Chelsey Dorsey, Angela Lawson, Stephanie Jackson, Carolyn Jackson, Lillie Jackson, Susie Lawson, and Lisa Thornton; nephews: Ricky Jeffrey, Aiko Davis, James Grant, Joseph Grant, JC Lawson; and her c:evoted friends, Danny McCloud and Joe Shipman. Each of these individuals will carry forward the lessons of kindness, resilience, and faith that Suebay imparted.
Suebay will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
