Rahmon "Mon" Sharif Wells was born on October 22,1974, in Ozark, Alabama, to Sakinah Sharif Williams and Wali Sharif. On June1, 2025, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, Rahman peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, gentleness, and unforgettable memories.
Rahman was a kind-hearted, gentle, and easygoing man who was deeply devoted to his family. As the firstborn child of his mother, he held a special place in her heart and shared a bond with her that was rooted in love, protection, and mutual respect. That same love extended far and wide-to his siblings, extended family, and countless friends.
A proud graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama, Rahman was a student-athlete who excelled on the football field. His ambition and intellect led him to pursue higher education at Alabama State University in Montgmoery, where he majored in Marine Biology. Rahman's commitment to academic excellence consistently earned him a place on the Dean's List.
Rahman was a vibrant, easygoing, and high spirited soul. He loved music, family gatherings, and good conversation. Whether it was hanging out with loved ones or simply enjoying the rhythm of life, Rahman has a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, seen, and appreciated. His laughter, kindness, and calm demeanor will be remembered by all who were blessed to share life with him.
Rahman leaves behind to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Sakinah Williams (Lionel), and father Wali Sharif; his devoted sisters, Taliah Williams (Terry), Lindsay Irving, Jocelyn McLeod Hollins, Crystal Doss, and Kristen Walker; and his loving brothers, Aaron Ajani and Omar Williams (Melissa).
He was a proud uncle to his nephews: Terry Williams Jr. Terrance Williams, Denzel Oliver, Niko Ajani. Marshaun Williams, Markeisha Vaughn, Briana Cameron, Aaliyah Doss, Tiffany Miley, Clarissa Howard, Shamara Williams, and Alanni Mayfield.
In addition to a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, Rahman is also remembered lovingly by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friend. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. Though his earthly journey has come to a close, Rahman's gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
