Obituary for Woodie Grant III Woodie Grant III, resident of Ozark, Alabama, passed away on March 26, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1961. Woodie served his country proudly in the United States Army, demonstrating a commitment to service that defined a portion of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Woodie Grant Jr. and mother Mrs. Christine Hood Grant.
Woodie leaves behind a legacy of family and friendship. He is survived by his sons Woodie Grant IV, Turrell Grant, Marrell Grant sisters, Bobbie Ann Smith, Angless Thompson, Carolyn (George) Jolly, Gayle (Rickey) Hawkins, and Beth (Tom) Hillis; his brothers, Johnny Lee, Tommy (Darlene) Grant, and James Grant; his sister-in-law, Geneva Thompson; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews, including Rickey Hawkins Jr., Dominick Hawkins, Willie Smith, Andre Thompson, Michael Thompson, Terrell Thompson, Torey Leslie, Schaqualia Jones, Shawn Thompson, Michelle Thompson, and Keisha Jolly. He also leaves behind Evelyn Jones, mother of Tarrell and Woodie IV Grant, special friends Hope Martin and Teddy Cooper, as well as many aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends. Woodie will be remembered for his service to his country, and the connections he made with his large family and friend group.
