Our beloved son and brother, Andrew (Andy) David Perryman, of Tyler, Texas, took his final rest on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Andy was born in Skipperville, Alabama to Samuel and Lorene Perryman on February 9, 1963. He graduated in 1981 from George W. Long School in Skipperville, Alabama, where was a star athlete. He attended Troy University in 1981 then transferred to Enterprise State Junior College where he majored in Criminal Justice. He later attended the State of Alabama Department of Corrections Training Academy in Selma, AL where he became a well-respected Alabama corrections officer for over 12 years.
He met the love of his life Estella “Nikki” Nichols and moved to Tyler, Texas where they married on June 21, 1997 until her death in February 2020.
While in Tyler, he received his Class A driving certificate at the Tristate Semi Driver Training School. Defensive driving techniques, hazardous materials training and testing and hazardous driving conditions. He worked as a truck driver from 1997 until 2009. He then worked at Target warehouse in Tyler when his health started to deteriorate.
Andy accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ozark, Alabama until he transferred his membership to Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tyler, Texas where he remained a faithful member until he moved to Birmingham, Alabama in August of this year.
Like any favorite item you can name or recall, Andy is that favorite person loved by everyone. This is the person who if you did not like him, then there is something wrong with you. He was the person everyone asks for when you enter a room; where’s Andy?
Well, while he was able, you could find him fishing from his lake home pier, watching a cooking show - he loved to cook, watching Gunsmoke, being a faithful Alabama fan or driving near and far in his favorite Ford F-150. Andrew’s loyalty knew no bounds. He would show up at any time and bring tubs of fresh fish with him for reunions, or gatherings or just because. He is our heart; he is our brother, and we will miss him every day.
Andy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Estella “Nikki” Perryman, his father Samuel D. Perryman, grandmother Johnny Bell Mclendon, Aunt Mary Ethel Pierce, great Aunts Maybell Norwood and Tilda Ree Hill and his great Uncle Robert "Bob" McKinnis, Sr.
Andy leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: His parents, Lorene and Jimmy McGlon of Skipperville, AL, his siblings, Martha Perryman of Tallahassee, Fl, Samuel (Joyce) Perryman of Dothan, AL, Mabelline “Bella” Holsey of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia (Corey) Webb of Gardendale, AL, and Loretta (Mandel) Hill of Birmingham, AL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and all who loved him dearly.
