Annie Jewel Hobson was born on November 4th, 1950, in Henry County Alabama. She was the daughter of Annie Mae Johnson and Willie E. Johnson, Sr. She was the oldest of four children: Robbie Green, Willie E. Johnson, Jr., and Willie Rose Johnson.
She graduated from D.A. Smith High School and completed cosmetology school in Ozark, Alabama. Years later, she attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas to become a registered nurse, but did not finish. So, she continued to follow her passion in cosmetology, which led to a career as a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She had worked in many salons but devoted her time at JCPenney.
Besides, doing hair and making people feel beautiful, she loved life and making people smile. She enjoyed puzzles, crossword puzzles, word search, reading, sight-seeing, people-watching, traveling, crocheting, and watching game shows.
Annie Jewel Hobson ‘gained her wings’ early Monday morning, November 30, 2020. She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. She leaves behind Eddie Hobson (husband), LaNeatria Hobson (daughter), Aishauna Rose Hobson (granddaughter). Siblings: Willie E. Johnson, Jr. (brother), Gloria J. Johnson (sister in-law), Robbie Green (sister), and Leo Green (brother in-law). Relatives: Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends: Sharon LaFleur Dixon and family, Ron and Cynthia Munday, Tracie, April C., and many others.
