Betty Joyce Terry was born to the union of the late Tellie C. Dick and Gussie Lee Dick on March 25, 1948 in Ozark, Alabama. She was saved at an early age and baptized as a member of Macedonia Baptist church.
Joyce spent her early years in Ozark graduating from D.A. Smith High School in 1966. Later she moved to Cleveland, Ohio to be close to her best friend and sister, the late Maereen Dick Bouiye. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted son, Frederick Terry of Cleveland, Ohio (his father, Rev. Richard Terry of Daleville, Alabama).
In Cleveland, Joyce retired from Stanley Cleaners after 34 years of service. She also worked approximately ten years for Panera Bread. To enhance her spiritual life, Joyce joined Emanuel A.M.E. Zion Church where she was a faithful servant until her passing. While Joyce made Cleveland her home, she happily returned to Ozark every summer to visit her mother, family and friends.
Joyce leaves to mourn in her passing; three brothers, Shellie (Beth-deceased) of Ozark, AL, Curtis (Theresa) of Cedar Hill, TX and Willie (Sandy) of Powder Springs, GA; one aunt, Lena Newman of Birmingham, AL; two nieces, Kimberly Dick of Houston, TX and Michaela (Faheem) Haskins of Power Springs, GA; three nephews, Steven Bouiye of Cleveland, OH, Shellie (Caneidra) Dick, Jr. of Kingwood, TX and Kevin Dick of Powder Springs, GA; six great-nephews and one great niece, and a host of relatives and friends.
