CHEREL BRITT MURPHY was born on July 25, 1956, to the union of
Early & Annie Clyde Britt in Miami, Florida. She was raised by her
grandmother, Clara Waiters, whom she held in high regard. Cherel
graduated from Miami Jackson Senior High School in 1975. She labored
28 years for the State of Florida and later transitioned into being a
Nursing Assistant and School-Crossing Guard. She was a dedicated
worker in any job capacity she held and worked as onto the Lord.
Cherel obeyed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized in the mid-
1980s. She was a faithful Christian at the Willow Oaks congregation in
Ozark, AL until her passing. She loved the Lord and shared The Good
News with anyone she encountered. She enjoyed listening to acapella
gospel music, studying her Bible lessons, teaching the primary children
at church & was always visiting the sick & shut-in, her brothers & sisters
in Christ and her family to encourage them.
Cherel Britt Murphy went from labor to reward departing this life on
Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her
daughter, Chertrese Murphy and brother, Gabriel Britt.
She leaves to cherish her memory; Her children: Blair Majors, Natasha
Majors, Aneesha Majors, & Curtis Earl Murphy; Her grandchildren:
Anicia Johnson, Brianna Beckton, Alicia Bradley, & Clair Majors; Her
great-grandchildren: Zybrion Beckton & Brealynn Miles; Her siblings:
Terry J. Britt, Charlene Thomas, Kenny (Antoinette) Britt, Lester Britt,
& Early Britt, Jr.; Her beloved niece, Lakeesha Thomas; a special friend,
Sylvia Alexander; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers &
sisters in Christ, and friends.
