Curtis (Swift) Smith

Bro. Curtis Smith, 81, passed April 18, 2020 at his daughter’s home. He was born the eldest son on December 17, 1938, Newton, Al to the late Charlie T. and Emma Beatrice (Wells) Smith. He attended D.A Smith and Pinckard High where he graduated Valedictorian of his class, and was also Co- Captain of the basketball team. At any early age he joined Antioch Baptist Church in Newton, and was a lead singer of the choir where he remained faithful in attendance until his health began to fail. He worked construction for 40 plus years. He was a big Alabama and Dodgers Fan also. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his 3 younger brothers, Joseph, Willie Allen, and Alfred. Granddaughter Quintaysia and great granddaughter Trinity. He is survived by his daughter Isha(Edward) of Dothan, sons Stevie (Sandra) of Birmingham and Thyrus of Dothan. grandchildren, Demaurea, Zakeiyus, Shemar of Dothan, Savannah of NC ,Brandon, Camilla, Tori, Christian and Colin of Birmingham, Jarvis and Zahnevia of Slocomb, Al. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

A service will be announced and held at Antioch Missionary Baptist in Newton, AL at a later date.
