Death Notice
Gwendolyn Green (Flowers) left her Earthly home to be with the Lord Monday August, 31st at Baptist East in Montgomery. She was 64 years of age.
Obituary
Gwendolyn ReNee Green was called home August 31,2020. She was born August 24, 1956 in Ozark, Al. She was one of six children born to the late Melva Lene and Lloyd Flowers and was affectionately know as Gwen. At an early age she accepted Christ and became a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church. She served as director of the Young People’s Department (YPD) and the Richard Allen Youth Organization within the church.
She attended Ozark City Public Schools before heading to Wallace Community College. She then set her sights on Troy State University where she attained her Bachelor’s degree. Gwen was passionate when it came to helping others, and chose a career dedicated to assisting the mentally ill. She worked for SpectraCare Health System for a total of 18 years. In 1983, Gwen married Ralph Brown and to that union one child was born.
Gwen leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Amber Brown; one granddaughter, Alonna Huffman; one sister, Cynthia Fenn; two nephews, Gerald Jones; Andrew(Crystal) Flowers, four nieces; Ashley Flowers, Ariel Chapman, Alexis Flowers, & Angela Flowers; 3 aunts; Annie Long, Gracie Mosquero, & Lou E. Flowers; one uncle; Charles Shipman, special friends Eishermon Palmer, Deb Crittenden, and Debra Johnson Bynum and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two sisters, Evelyn Joyce Flowers & Kimberly Ann Chapman; two brothers, Jeffery Flowers & Timothy Flowers and her mother and father Melva Lene & Lloyd Flowers preceded her in death.
