In Memory of John L. Smith born September 6, 1933 to the late John Robert and Qualia Smith in Ozark, Alabama. He attended the D. A. Smith Negro School.
He joined the Army in October 1953 where he served for 2 years as a Light Truck Driver with the Heavy Motor Company, 29th Infantry, Ft Benning, Georgia and was honorably discharged.
John spent most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia where he worked as a Sheet Rocker and other renovation jobs.
John L. was proceeded in death by his first wife, Betty Joyce Thomas Smith and his second wife, Georgiana Smith and son Joseph Alan Smith and a daughter Angela Smith.
He leaves in memory his daughter Rosalynn Calhoun (Columbus, GA) and son James Mitchell Hairstson, (Ozark, AL). 3 grandchildren, Tromecko (LaToisha) Columbus, GA, Alexander, and Rodderick Calhoun, Quantico, VA. 4 Great-grandchildren, Tiyana, Anna, Aja and Tromekco Jr. (TJ) Calhoun; cousins Lynette Le, Stanley Ray Coleman and Kathy Coleman and a host of cousins and friends.
