Mrs. Mary G. Kennedy was born on December 23rd, 1938, in Louisville, AL. to the late Mr. Dan Edom and Mary Lee Edom. She departed this life on February. 17th 2024, at 1:50 AM. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Wallace Kennedy, daughter: Angie Lee Kennedy, son: Marc Anthony Kennedy, one great grandson, Titus Bilbo. Brothers: Mr. Willie James Edom, Willie C. Edom, Danny Lee Edom, H.D. Edom, Cleveland Edom, Carl Edom, W.D. Edom, and Daniel Edom. Sisters: Cora Lee Hubbard, Callie M. Boykin, and Mary Ann Mckinnon.
She leaves to cherish her memories: six sons: Arthur Earl Thompkins (Jackie) of South Carolina, Elder Wallace Kennedy Jr. (Bethsheba) of Ozark, Aldona Kennedy (Sue) of Louisville, James Kennedy (Sallie) of North Carolina, Sidney Kennedy (Tawaina) of Ozark, AL and Christopher Kennedy (Brittnee) of Tennessee. Three daughters: Mary Jean Kennedy-Jones of Ozark, M. Teresa Kennedy (Fiancé, Fred) of Dothan, AL and Pennie Kennedy Wright (Dominic) of Ozark, AL. One stepdaughter: Joyce Mayo (Charlie) of Clio, AL. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Two sisters: Dorothy Frye (Charles) of Dallas, Texas and Elouise Rumph of Louisville AL. Two brothers-in-law: Grover Kennedy and Cleveland Kennedy (Maudy) both of Louisville, AL. One sister-n-law Louise Woods (Willie) of Louisville, AL.
At an early age Mrs. Kennedy confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Mrs. Kennedy was united into Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Wallace Kennedy on May 18th, 1957. At that time, she joined Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church of Louisville where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until her health failed. Mrs Kennedy was a very energetic person, she enjoyed her family life, her church family by serving over 40 yrs. Singing in the choir, serving on the Executive Board as a Steward, Trustee, and Ladies Aid organization. She retired from the Van Heusen shirt factory after 25 yrs. of service. Mrs. Kennedy enjoyed singing, fishing, shopping, and spending time with her family. Her favorite color was red, and her favorite songs were; Let it be Real, Jordan River, and Swing Low Sweet Chariot.
