Sister Sarah Lawson Blackwell, born March 5, 1947 to the late F.T. and Whittie Mae Lawson.
Sarah gained her wings September 29, 2023 at Flowers Hospital Dothan Al.
At an early age, she confessed Christ and accepted Jesus as her savior. A baptized member of
Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist. A devoted member of the Inspiration Choir, her love and
dedication was singing the Gospel for the Lord. Sarah moved to Daleville AL and was very active
at Shiloh Baptist Church, missing her home church rededicated back to Greater Sardis
Missionary Baptist Church. She attended and graduated from D.A. Smith School in 1965. She
married Sgt. William Blackwell and was blessed with a son William Devin Blackwell. After
extended travel with the military they moved to Ozark AL.
Sarah was a seamstress at White Knight until there closing, personal seamstress. She would
sing at weddings, funerals, and church events. Sarah absolutely loved her family, and especially
loved the Lord. Sarah furthered her education and obtained a Degree as a licensed
cosmetologist from Wallace Community College and became owner /operator of Sarah Salon.
Sarah had a contagious smile and was full of life, and loved by all.

Grandson -Devin Blackwell (Alyssa) Ozark, Granddaughters Jazzmine Dozier – Great GrandsonZjon’ Tavious Phillips. Great Granddaughters Za’Riyah Jones, Kiley Blackwell, and Alexis

Sister- Emma King, Warner Robins, GA, brother- Jerry Lawson (Jackie) Kentucky, and a host of
family and friends.
She is proceeded in death by parents F.T. and Whittie Mae Lawson, brothers- Johnny Frank,
Lawyer T. Lawson, sisters - Wonnie Rosbia, Annie Bowens, Ora Ruley and Pearl Prater.
